Help! It's driving me insane!?

Ok playing baseball at school and my friend started asking these "riddles." I can't solve them because they are confusing and I can't seem to see the connection. He says, "When I say one of these riddles, you respond by saying one back that works."

Here are a few that worked:

I like your eyes but not your shoes.

I like the coach but not his hat.

I like the grass but not the sun (I think that was it)

I like the floor but not the roof. (I got this at random)

I like Josh but not his hair.

Here are some that don't work:

I like my arm but not my feet.

I like the trees but not the branches.

HELP! He won't tell me the connection and I tried the internet. If anyone gets this help me out...

Help! It's driving me insane!?
I think he's confused us 5/10
Reply:Ask him this: If a chicken %26amp; a half could lay an egg %26amp; a half in a day %26amp; a half, how long would it take a monkey with a wooden leg to kick the bottom out of a lead bucket...true or false? OR What's the difference between an orange %26amp; a mailbox? Answer: A T-shirt, because a motorcycle doesn't have doors! OR Well, it just goes to show you -- the higher you fly...the much. (or anything equally nonsensical -- just to give the same crap right back at him)
Reply:i agree he was trying to confuse ya
