Didn't God ask Moses to take off his footwear before getting near the flaming tree?
Why do Christians wear shoes inside their church?
the flaming tree was not a church.
Reply:church vs flaming tree
unrelated
Reply:Why do atheists have to keep proving over and over that they are not to bright. Everyone knows already so knock it off.
Reply:One good thing about this question is that he/she went to church at one time or another.
Reply:I suppose the smell might bother the preachers too much
Reply:because we are living in the New Testament times and we are commanded to leave the paths of our fathers behind us. I probably spelled something wrong sorry
Reply:yes, but that was holy ground and God instructed him to do so.
A church is just a building - it is the people that make up the real church - not a floor, or shoes.
Reply:Christianity has come a looong way...
Everybody wears shoes, just habit, people don't even think about it. At least in the western world.

Yea.. you are right.... why... maybe the fire is on bush
peace
Reply:Good thing they aren't Jews then. Besides, it is pretty clear that God likes CROX.
Reply:I don't know. Hey, did you hear Aaron Carter's latest hit?
Reply:Flaming tree? Didn't Moses have altitude sickness from those mushrooms he found at the top?
Now, what's that got to do with people wearing footwear inside a warehouse for pagan idols?
Reply:"Do not come any closer," God said. "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground." Exodus 3:4-6
We would like to think that our churches are holy ground, too, but when God says it is holy and when we ask God to consider it holy is a very different circumstance.
For what it is worth, our Pastor is often shoeless! He comes to the church early in casual clothes and then changes in his office before first service and sometimes he forgets his shoes! So there he stands in his socks... :) Some time when I see it early enough our growth group is going to sit in the front row with our shoes off! ;) He'll love it!
Reply:He must didn't want his to get his shoes to catch fire/
Reply:There is no evidence in the Bible that the early Christian church ever cared if a person wore shoes.
Reply:that is because Moses was on Holy Ground Everytime we used to sing that song in church I felt like I should take off my shoes but I think I was the only one that actually did
Reply:Yeah....but there aren't flaming trees in our church....
Maybe you should know WHY God told Moses to take of his shoes...because it's Holy Ground...
Did God tell Abraham to take of his shoes? What about Jonah? Noah? David? Solomon? Why should we go on one example when it was not mentioned to thers?
Reply:Well yeah he said that but that was on Holy Ground and the church is the people not the building. Plus we are livin in the New Testament silly!
Reply:It's a cultural thing not a christian thing. Trust me. I've been trying to get my family to take their shoes off before they come into my house and it has been a long hard road. Meanwhile, I have Korean friends, and everyone takes off their shoes without question. For some reason white culture America does not believe in taking their shoes off anywhere. I think we Americans might even sleep in our shoes!
Reply:dear
its beacause as paul taught "God who made the world and everything in it,since He is Lord of heaven and earth, doesn"t dwell in temples made with hands" acts 17:24,7:48.
Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost who is in you, whom you have from God,and you are not your own? 1cor 6:19
a building is a prayer house where we gather together to worship God.one cannot restrain God in a particular place.therfore it is your will to wear or not the shoes inside the church building.
thank you.
may G-d bles you.
Reply:We don't. We paint our feet brown and stitch up the tops to look like shoes.
Reply:is the church a building or is the church a body of believers?
What is the temple of God? Is it not the christian himself?
1Cor:3:16: Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

Reply:yes but that was a long long time ago. and it may have been symbolizing something else. plus we like to wear shoes.
Reply:If I ever see a burning bush I promise I will take my shoes off.
Reply:Most Christian churches are located in places where people don't take off their shoes. Can you imagine having to remove your shoes before entering a church in Minnesota, or England or Ireland or Norway, or Moscow, in February? I think they didn't/don't remove their shoes as a matter of being practical.
Reply:They may do it in church, but they have to clean them first.
