The Appendix?

After baseball today, I went to sit under a tree and change my shoes. When I bent over to sit, I felt a shooting pain in my abdomen(right side below the ribcage). My teammate said I may have appendicitis. It has been hurting for almost a month, but not consistently. How do you know if you have appendicitis? Should I be concerned?

The Appendix?
maybe, go to a doctor for a check up. a simple blood test can determine if your white blood cell count is up. if it is then this along with the other symptoms could indicate appendicitis.

xray maybe needed too, but defiantly a blood test
Reply:You should go and have it checked out.

Yes it could be appendicitis, but it could also be a kidney infecton or kidney stone.

See your doctor as soon as possible.

Good luck
Reply:it wouldn%26#039;t be hurting for a month if it was your appendix. You should go to the doctors if your stomach hurts.

When you have your appendix out this all happens in a matter of a day or two because the pain is so bad.. usually your are throwing up. I had mine out when I was 13.
Reply:My appendix ruptured when I was 16 and from what I remember the pain started on the left side and gravitated to the right. We are talking the kind of pain that doubles you over and this all went down in a few days time. It%26#039;s probably nothing but I believe in being safe rather than sorry when it comes to your health so why not make an appointment with your doctor just for peace of mind.
