Sweaty feet are causing irritation, redness and slight swelling?

My husband has been wearing two pairs of socks but must wear workboots due to his career. His feet have been sweating abnormally and he has difficulty walking after he takes his shoes off. His feet are red, irritated and slightly swollen. It has been increasingly painful for the last couple of weeks. We have tried foot lotions, sprays, and scrubs. He does not wear shoes for awhile after he comes home so that his feet can dry out. He does also suffer from athlete%26#039;s foot and uses Tinactin and Tea Tree oil foot care. He says that this is a different kind of burn.

Sweaty feet are causing irritation, redness and slight swelling?
My son had a problem like this and it took Dr.%26#039;s a YEAR to diagnose it as something other than athletes foot. He sweats profusely and always has. They gave him a roll on antibiotic and an aluminum hydrate roll on to keep his feet dry and not sweat.
Reply:It sound as though he has a cheap pair or a worn out pair of boots. I would go down and put some money into a good set. It makes all the difference. I work construction and I had a problem with sores on my feet and swelling. I was also wearing a $30.00 pair of boots. I went out and spent $100.00 on apair of carhartt boots and they make a lot of difference. Go to www.gemplers.com If that doesn%26#039;t work, I would see a doctor, he/she will forward you to a specialist
Reply:I don%26#039;t have an answer for his condition but I do know that he needs to %26#039;wick%26#039; the moisture(from sweat) away from his feet (like skiers do). Go to a sport store and look at the special sock liners.

Also, has he had his blood sugar tested lately? Many diabetics have similar foot problems..

Hope it helps...
Reply:Your husband needs to be evaluated by a physician.
