I live in South Carolina and my question is, is there any other state that is as proud of their flag emblems?

as we are? We have a navy blue back ground with a palmetto tree and a cresent moon in white on our state flag.

These emblems can be found on everything from bumper stickers, window stickers for the car, shirts, blankets, hats, even on our shoes and flip flops, etc.

Is there any other state that has this going on and what is your emblem?

Thank you very much and please NO crack pot answers....

I am just courious. I have been to most Eastern coastal states and have NOT found this anywhere else.

Thanks again

1st things 1st.... confused is WRONG... that is an urban legand... just because Texas was once its own country does not give its flag %26#039;extra powers%26#039; ... Texas is now a state of the United States of America and as such its flag should be flown beneath the US flag.

anyway to answer the question...

1st thing ... south carolina was the 1st state to have its own flag. the flag was changed two days after it was adopted and has stayed the same ever since so perhaps south carolina should be proud for being 1st!

2nd thing.. flags with simpler designs are bound to be seen more often and be more easily recognisable.

quite a number of US state flags include the state coat of arms which are often quite complicated designs and hard to copy well.

flags with simple and easily distinquishable desigins such as south carolina, texas, and mississippi are far more likely to be copied onto such items as you mention easy to make and people recognise and know what it is.

it does not mean that other states are not quite so proud of their flags. - theyre just too hard to make other things using their designs

the US flag itself is a very recognisable symbol throughout the world because it is easiy distinguised from other flags and quite simple in design though a couple of other countries have taken parts of the design such as Liberia and Malaysia

the US flag design is used on lots and lots of things.. the flag has such a design that one could recognise the object as having a US flag design even if it only had 5 stripes and 10 stars.

the Austrailia flag if used on something could not be easily distinguished unless it was in its full form as it includes the flag of another country in its design (my own Union flag)

hope that helps
Reply:lol! could a copied and pasted it too!

state flags can be at the same height as the US flag when flown from a seperate flagpole (or can of course be flown beneath the US flag) Report It

Reply:but the US flag must be on its own right with the other flags to its left- that applies also national flags which MUST be flown at the same height as the US flag. Report It

Reply:The Lone Star State. That would be Texas, of course.

Texas is the only state where it%26#039;s legal to fly the state flag at the same height as the U.S. flag.
Reply:In Florida, we have ours on buildings and schools. It is also on the side door emblems on Florida Highway Patrol cars. I think that Texas and Maryland are probably the two states where you will see their flags displayed nearly everywhere.
Reply:In kansas we have it on stuff but we%26#039;re not over-crazy about putting it on stuff
Reply:i live in pennsylvania i do not even think the morons i am surrounded know what our flag looks like i do though and have only seen it advertised a few places like lisense plates
Reply:mississippi, since you guys dumped on the stars and bars and went with the crescent moon and palmetto instead, mississippi has to hold the candle for southern traditions. its a fierce fight.
