Ode to the Cicada - A Pulitzer poem!?

You have to be in the midwest to get this poem. Enjoy!

*Ode to the Cicada*

Cicadas are rampant here in Chicago

In the trees, on the ground, everywhere you go

They buzz and they hum

They fly to and fro

They fly into your windshield

When they fly too low

Cicadas gut stain on your windshield

Is really quite a pain

When you turn on your wipers

And only make a bigger stain

They are dying by the thousands

Literally lining the street

But ants are having a blast

With all the fresh bug meat

Cardinals and robins

Snatch them from the air

And take them to their chicks

Oh what delectable fare!

But there is something worse

Oh it is true, it is true!

Its having cicada gut stuck

In the bottom of your shoe
