I am an above average painter,but I can't draw to save my life! I can't even draw trees. Read On...?

In art, I need a picture of something to paint.... but I have to draw it first. I want it to be pretty [appearence] and pretty easy!!! I%26#039;ve looked all over but I can%26#039;t seem to find something simple enough. Can you give me a link to what I%26#039;m looking for. I%26#039;m think, landscape or maybe like just the bottom of a tutu and ballet shoes. I%26#039;m also not allowed to draw peopple or faces. It has to be realism. Thank you sooo much %26lt;3

I know this doesn%26#039;t really answer the question but it would behoove you to learn to draw. The best how to book I%26#039;ve run across is Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards. If you work through even just the first few simple exercises you%26#039;ll amaze yourself in a very short time. I learned a great deal from it and used it for teaching others. The average student undergoes an incredible transformation in about 6 weeks. It%26#039;s really about %26quot;seeing%26quot; and perceiving things as they are and not as you think they are odd as it may sound.

Reply:be with someone who is artist or painter or take more practice paint what ever you want. start with going to artworks exhibit like museum anyway i guessed all you need is a drive look around you . you find a nice looking object to paint gud luck !
Reply:how bout try looking in the the website n look for 2d or 3d painting or even coming 2 life paintings n it will give you and idea on what 2 draw n also if u don%26#039;t know how 2 draw then practice its helps also look at the paintings n study them look at the swirls curves what ever it is it can help
Reply:I found something simple for you. It%26#039;s a ballerina, legs only with slippers, and a black kitten looking up at the ballerina.

If you want to do something with that, why don%26#039;t you hang skates on a wall by their shoelaces and start drawing, paying careful attention to shadow%26#039;s and all that? Many great poses could be gotten if you have a pair. If you don%26#039;t have one, just search Google.





That, or search your house with a camera looking for interesting angles, but nothing too complex. Once you have a nice still, draw it. Or just arrange the things around you. It%26#039;s surprising how interesting pencils can be when viewed properly. xD
Reply:I%26#039;m not sure how someone could become a good painter without knowing how to draw. Plotting out your painting and understanding volume and form are fundamental to both. Painting is just adding color and tone to the conceived forms of a drawing.


If you have a pair of Ice skates, or Ballet slippers throw a cloth onto a table and arrange them in an aesthetic way. Put a lamp on it to create a descriptive tonal pattern. Then plot out your painting.


If your not working from a still life, you%26#039;ll never learn how to. Copying from pictures will never look as nice because photos flatten out colors and tone.


Alot of painters use a ruler to help plot their paintings and some even use a protractor to get the angles correct.


Creating your own composition is always nicer then copying someone elces.
