What do shoes on a wire, or hanging in a tree mean?
Well, some years ago, when a guy was leaving the Army at the end of his term of enlistment, he%26#039;d tie his combat boots together by the laces and throw them into a tree near his barracks. As for the sight you mention - I dunno.
Reply:Depends on the neighborhood. In some it implies that the owner will very shortly not be needing them anymore.
Reply:It%26#039;s like graffiti, just a way for urban youths to mark their territories or to be remembered.
Reply:I see that too. I think people get loaded and throw them up there. Also, could be someone being a jerk and taking someone%26#039;s shoes and doing that.
Reply:There is a drug house nearby
Reply:There is a kid in school who is a bully. He takes the shoes off kids he can beat up and ties the strings together and throws them across the line. They are impossible to retrieve and they have to go to school bare footed. If they try to climb a tree or get them down the bully beats them up.

We all went through it going to school. I wish a parent would watch and catch him and make him pay for a bunch of shoes then he would stop harrassing the kids. Or call the power company and tell them to watch.
